DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAM
at the Alexandre Lamfalussy Faculty of Economics


The Faculty of Economics of the University of West Hungary has a Double Degree cooperation program with Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, Business School (Finland) since 2012, and in 2016 has developed a new agreement with the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz (Poland).

What does Double Degree mean?

The Double Degree Progam offers a special facility for students to get two degrees at the same time. and to be able to study two semesters at the partner university, if they fulfil the credit (ECTS) and the diploma requirements separately.

What does the program offers?

Double degree students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host universities. The home university acknowledges all ECTS credits that are gained in the host universities. The students will get two diplomas at the same time, one from the home university and another from the host institution.

Who can join the Double Degree program?

Students from the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, Business School BA degree programme in Business Management, International Business or SME Business Management may join our Double degree program for BA students. They must have achieved as a precondition minimum 90 ECTS credits at the home institution before starting their study period in Sopron.
Master-level students of the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, degree programme in Business Mangement, International Business may participate in our Double degree program for MA students. They must have obtained 60 ECTS credits at the home institution.
Other requirements are the intermediate or advanced level English language skilles, active status and active participation in supporting foreign students studying at the faculty.

What kind of tasks do the students have?

  • Students have to fulfill two semesters at the partner university and they have to obtain 30 credits per semester.
  • Students have to write their thesis in English and they have to defend it in English, too. The responsible supervisor will be a member of academic staff/professor from the student’s home institution. The second supervisor will be one from the host institution.
  • The cost of living, accommodation, travel, textbooks have to be provided by students, in which Erasmus scholarship can be helpful.

How to apply?

If you are interested in studying at the UWH please contact the International Office at your home university and make inquires (if this has not yet been the case) about the application process to the double degree programme. For your application please use the application form given at the link Exchange students/Required documents. After being chosen by your home university, please send your complete documents to the International Office of the UWH, Faculty of Economics.
